Overview

Growing up in South Carolina, Chris learned the value of hard work at an early age. His mother worked 2-3 jobs to help support their family and his father was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. The values he learned at home encouraged him to serve his community and he joined the military while he was a senior in high school. Six months after graduating high school, at the age of 18, Chris proudly served our country in Operation Desert Storm. As a Gulf War veteran, he was deployed near the Iraqi border in the town of King Khalid Military City and bravely performed duties in the operating room assisting in healing our wounded soldiers.

Upon returning from Saudi Arabia, Chris enrolled in Midlands Technical College and worked exceptionally hard earning transfer credits to the prestigious Howard University. While at Howard University, he was proud to serve as a student ambassador and Chapel usher in the historic Andrew Rankin Chapel. Constant mental toughness accompanied by hard work rewarded him with a BA degree in political science in only three years.
